Legal Status and Organizational Structure
The Technical Centre for the Wood and Furniture Industry is a legal entity of public economic interest, subject to the provisions of the Commercial Companies Code. It is endowed with civil personality and financial autonomy, and is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy. The Technical Centre for the Wood and Furniture Industry was created by decree of the Minister of Industry on 29 February 1996, at the request of the profession and in accordance with law no. 123 of 28 November 1994 concerning industrial technical centres. It started its activities at the end of 1997.
THE TECHNICAL CENTER FOR WOOD AND FURNITURE INDUSTRIES works to develop the wood and furniture sector through three main strategic pillars:
- Supporting sector development through technology, economics, marketing, and environmental approaches
- Assisting companies in innovation through training, technical assistance, product testing, and raw material analysis
- Acquire, centralize, manage, and disseminate scientific and technological information from research and development, technology watch, documentation, etc.
